A Wooden Treadle for the

8x12 Chandler & Price

Sarah bought Rich Polinski's restored his 8x12 C&P, but wanted to operate it with a treadle.

So he built one for her - of wood.

Wood is a perfectly good material for making a treadle.
Be sure it's good, strong wood - and be sure to fit the hinge - shown above - to the rear shaft of the press and also make sure that your treadle hook hangs straight down when the crankshaft is low.

Cast-iron reproductions of C&P, Pearl and other treadles are also available from Hern Iron Works, in Idaho.
